Elizabeth, Robert & Karl: Bill and I "went back" fifty years and a mutual "Client" and Friend, Dr. Royce Blackmon. Royce was quite a character. When together, Bill and I would exchange "Royce" stories [the pet Lion, the Spanish Fighting Bull or rebuilding Monticello]. It was good to re-affirm our friendship later in life. It was especially pleasing when Bill completed his JD degree and the pride he had in doing so. As you, I will miss Bill. Richard Gray (Judge)

Bill was SPECIAL and he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him! During the years, 1956-1958, Will was stationed at the Marine Barracks, 8th & I Streets, S.E., Washington, DC (the oldest active post in the Marine Corps and a prestigious assignment for Marines). While at 8th & I, he was assigned to the Barracks Detachment / Ceremonial Guard Company, 1st Platoon / Silent Drill Platoon. Some of his duties included: providing security for President Dwight D. Eisenhower, performing the Silent Drill routine at the Friday Evening Parades (and elsewhere), military funerals at Arlington National Cemetery, arrival / departure details for world leaders, and more. I served with Bill at exactly the same time at 8th and I. I was in the 4th Platoon of Ceremonial Guard Company. I did not re-call his name but as soon as I saw his posted photo I immediately recognized him!....rest in peace Marine!
