Edward Thomas Farley's Obituary
Edward Thomas Farley Jr. “Tom”, 72 of Apopka, Florida, passed away on July 17, 2017 of a long illness.
Tom, "Tommy" was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 31, 1945. As a child Tom moved with his family to Palatka, Florida where he graduated High School and continued on to receive a business degree from Florida State University on a baseball scholarship; as Tom was a talented baseball player scouted by professional teams. After initially working in business, Tom's interests lead him to join and later retire from the U.S. Border Patrol, working in Yuma, Arizona; Michigan, and back to Florida.
Tom was married in West Germany, to Hannelore Kaufmann on October 31, 1969 of whom he met in Germany while serving in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Tom comes from a long family line who served their country in the U.S. Army.
Tom had many loves (steak dinners, good beer, Doc Holliday stories, a good Kurt Russell movie) and many dislikes (sorry Obama, sorry those who want to mess with a person's First, Second amendment rights). Tom was an outgoing, sociable, jokester kind of guy, enjoying various sports, southern barbecues, fishing and riding his boat on the lakes of Florida.
