Desmond Daniel Brophy
October 31st 1948 to January 4th 2013
Desmond Brophy went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4th, 2013.
Desmond was deeply devoted to and is survived by his three children, Brian Desmond Brophy, Daniel Thomas Brophy, and Amy Joy Rossi, as well as his mother Catherine Josephine Brophy and his siblings, Marie Viskocil, Dee Castagna-Szalay, Brendan Brophy, and Martin Brophy. Desmond had four grand-children whom he loved very much, Skye, Jonathan, Aiden, and Chloe.
Desmond was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1948. He and his siblings lived a life of adventure, growing up in Ireland then traveling to Beirut to live for a year, then back to Ireland before finally moving to the United States.
Desmond was drafted into the United States Marine Corps, he spent time at Parris Island before being deployed to Vietnam in 1968 and 69.
After his honorable discharge from the military Desmond eventually settled in Vermont where he and his then wife, Renee, had his three children, Brian Desmond, Daniel Thomas, and Amy Joy.
In 1992 Desmond and his family moved to Florida, where they remain to this day.
Desmond met Nadine Ferri in 2001. The two became inseparable.
Ballroom dancing became one of Desi and Nadine’s passions, they loved to practice and take part in shows and competitions.
Desmond loved theology. He appreciated deep discussions about the after-life and was a very complex and deep thinker.
Desi had his real estate license and enjoyed hunting for new pieces of property to invest in.
His passing is a great loss as he will be deeply missed.
