Mr. Amos “Buck” Taylor, Jr., 90, of Orange City, FL, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. He was born on September 28, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA to Amos Johnson and Florence (Mills) Tay Read Obituary
I was honored to be a "companion" to Mr. Taylor while I worked in The Fountains at John Knox Village in Orange City, FL; he was a remarkable man and oh, the stories. He had a huge frame on the right side of his wall of medal after medal when you walked into his apartment; I was in awe of him when I knew what they represented. RIP Buck, with Elaine by your side.
I would like to salute here a great hero. I would like to thanks him in the name of my grandparents, my parents and all the people of my country.
Even if my message is just a little contribution and a short mark of respect from all the French and European people, I want to sincerely present a deep sadness to loose such a great man.

Deepest condolences to the family of a true American hero. While we as a country can never pay our debt of gratitude to Mr. Taylor and his comrades, know that his service is appreciated.
I've met Buck and his wife several times in Europe and the US. During commemorations, reunions and at his home. The time we've spend together was quality time to me. Thanks to Buck and his buddies we live in a free Eindhoven. We will never forget what they did for us so many years ago. May Buck and his wife rest in Peace. Currahee.
Buck Taylor was a hero who would tell you he was no hero, "I just did my job during WW2." He was wounded at Carentan and then again in Holland. God bless the paratroopers like Buck Taylor and the others of Easy 506th PIR.
As a young boy I read about the Currahee's in WW II. As a young man I fulfilled my boyhood dream and had the honor to become a member of the 506th and Serve in Vietnam. The WW II Currahee's left a proud legacy that I hope those of us that followed upheald it.
