William Paul Marcolese's Obituary
William P. Marcolese 97 of Deland passed away on March 14th 2015. William served for 4 years in the US Navy on the USS Texas and worked as a Trial Engineer on Construction on new Destroyers at Bethlehem Steel for the 3rd Navel District. He then sailed as a Merchant Marine Engineer for 15 years. When he retired from the Navy he worked for the General Motors Corp., Cadillac Motor Car Division as Building Management and Construction Supervisor in New York City. In 1973 William moved to Florida and worked for the Department of Transportation as Supervisor of Structures and Facilities in the 5th District, Deland, Florida.
A member of the Masonic Lodge #66 and “Past Grand Tall Cedar” Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Staten Island, N.Y., Member of AARP Debary Chapter #64, serving as Tour Director for many years, Community Activities and Health Co-Ordinator, member of the AARP Deland Chapter #4029 as Community Service, Health and Safety Co-Ordinator. And his favorite hobby was fishing.
William is preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Billera Marcolese to whom he was married 48 years. He is survived by his second wife, Margaret Lidston Marcolese, Son Robert and wife Claudia of The Village of Marvin, North Carolina, Granddaughter, Kimberly Kelly Cooper and Great Granddaughter Jordyn Kelly and Great Grandson Vincent Cooper of Hampton, Virginia.
