William Frederick Byard's Obituary
William "Bill" Frederick Byard, 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Bill was the beloved husband of Carlene (Roderick) Byard with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage together.
Bill was born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, and graduated from Piscataway Township High School and Russell Sage College. He joined the U.S Army and was a proud Military Policeman stationed at Fort Richardson adjacent to Anchorage, Alaska.
After his military service Bill was a life long employee of General Electric (G.E). He was recruited in the financial management program where he became a financial Analyst in Schenectady (New York), Lynn (Massachusetts), Chattanooga (Tennessee), and returned to Massachusetts in the Aircraft Engine Groups.
Bill enjoyed the ocean often taking long walks on the beach and salt water fishing in his boat. He was also a talented wood carver and Shaker Box maker. He was a member of wood carver associations in New England and New York. After retiring, he and his wife relocated to Florida where they enjoyed the beautiful beaches on the West Coast. They volunteered at Dogs Inc. formerly Southeastern Guide Dogs, where they were dog walkers and puppy huggers. In 2013, they worked in Hawaii on a project for the restoration of the U.S.S Missouri.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Everett and Dorothy (Lindsay) Byard and his brother Everett (Buddy) Byard. He is survived by his loving wife, Carlene; sister, Evelyn (John Hoops); sister in law, Robin Poulin and several nieces and nephews.
