Wally A. Rios' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wally A. Rios, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on June 21, 2025. Born in Puerto Rico, Wally was a proud veteran, a devoted family man, and a passionate lover of life.
A proud member of a family with a long tradition of service, Wally himself served his country in the Army. Throughout his life, he embodied the values of dedication, loyalty, and love for his homeland, Puerto Rico. For 44 years, Wally worked as an X-ray technician, providing compassionate care to countless people. His work was a testament to his commitment to others, always bringing a sense of calm and professionalism to those in need.
Outside of his career, Wally had an unshakeable passion for aviation. A licensed pilot with his own airplane, he spent countless hours soaring through the skies, always seeking adventure. His love for planes and aviation was only rivaled by his deep love for New York, the Mets, and his cherished homeland of Puerto Rico.
But above all, Wally treasured his family. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Hipolita, this pass December 27, 2024, they celebrated a glorious and grand 55 years together. He was also a proud father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and his legacy of love, care, and wisdom will continue to guide them.
A man of warmth, integrity, and generosity, Wally will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. He leaves behind a lasting impact on his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Wally leaves to cherish the memories of his life; wife, Hipolita Rios; children, Isabel Marie Rios Patton; Wally Antonio Rios Jr., James Rios, Christine Rios; brothers, Bruno Rios and Angel Rios; grandchildren, Darlene Patton; Anita Grace Patton, Alejandro Rios, Anthony James "A.J" Rios and Paisley Brunette; great-grandkids, Ayani Franks and Aliyah Franks; daughters-in-law, Nashika Rios and Stephanie Rios; as well as extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
