Thomas Allen Pouch, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2017 during his sleep at his home in Deltona, Florida. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Thomas and Helen Pouch. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Thelma Pouch, and his daughters, Drenna Pouch, Cheryl Pender and her fiancé Kenny Taylor, Trisha Germain and husband Larry, Becky Stewart and husband Donovan, and his son, James Klenk and fiancé Candie Wilson; brother, Daniel Pouch; Grandchildren, Heather Robinson, Sherenna Shelhart, Jenine Simerson, Nicholas Shelhart, Thomas Shelhart, Alaina Shelhart, and Christopher Shelhart; Candace Klenk, and Damian Klenk; Ashley Pender, Brittany Pender, and Jeannie Pender; Tristan Learned and Téa Learned; Marshall Stewart and Reagan Stewart. He was a Vietnam War veteran in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ranger. He was a foreman/welder/ironworker at US Steel Gary Works for 30 years. He served at Volusia County Baptist Church in the Senior Ministry for over 15 years. He loved working on old cars and built a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe from the ground up. He ran the Chicago Marathon when he was 42 years old. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Papa and was loved by all who met him. He professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and served Him faithfully spreading the gospel to all he met. His life verse was Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. He now lives forevermore in heaven with his Savior.
