Thaddeus Kopec's Obituary
Thaddeus S. Kopec went home to be with the LORD, his Savior, on August 6, 2012. He was born in Lawrence, MA on May 19, 1918. He graduated from St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, then went on to receive his Medical Degree from the Kansas City School of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to marry the love of his life Irma Kaptein. They had 3 beautiful children: Thaddeus William Kopec of Ocala, FL, David Kopec of Lakeland, FL and Katherine Brody of Dacula, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Thaddeus William Kopec, Jr., Rachel Katherine Kopec, Gregory Joel Brody and Kimberly Nicole Brody.
Dr. Kopec was in the Army and involved in the battle of Normandy in WWII under General Patton’s command. While serving he was an interpreter of French and Italian. He was also a disabled Veteran.
Dr. Kopec Had private practices in Michigan and Florida. Then he went on to complete a residency in Psychiatry and practiced in several states. He retired in 1989 and was a resident of Lakeland for the past 13 years.
