Suzanne McWilliams McLaughlin's Obituary
Suzanne died April 26 at Halifax Health Hospice Care Center, Orange City, Florida in the company of her husband, Bob, their children and grandchildren.
She was born August 19, 1959 at St. Margaret's Hospital, Boston, Ma., the fifth child of Joseph and Kay McWilliams. Her early years were spent in Braintree, MA. Then came some eight years in Chatham, NJ. Then back to Massachusetts in Westborough and Medfield. She was much-loved by her large and close-knit family - aunts, uncles and and some fifty cousins. She was always closest to her sister Joanne, three years older.
Suzanne earned a BA from The College of the Holy Cross and, a few years later, obtained an MBA at Babson College. During her time in Medfield, she met Bob McLaughlin, her lifetime partner. They married at the Harvard Chapel in 1991 and lived, among other places, Newburyport and Amesbury MA, Sunapee, NH, Hilton Head, SC and Ormond Beach, FL. Suzanne was a financial consultant, first as an employee and later as an independent practitioner. Soos and Bob were both avid skiers and hikers in the White Mountains and on frequent trips to the Rockies. An important family member was their dog, Gilly, who gave Suzanne and Bob great enjoyment. In recent years they moved to Florida to be closer to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Suzanne leaves behind her husband, Dr. Robert F. McLaughlin of Ormond Beach, her brothers Joseph (Helen) McWilliams of Mashpee, MA, and Stephan (Lynn) McWilliams of Norfolk, MA., her sister Joanne Pederson (Stan Preble) of Nashua, NH and ten nieces and nephews. Her sister Catherine Kelleher of Pacific Grove, CA predeceased her. She also leaves her very good friend and daughter, Kalen (John) Krim, daughter Kirsten (Kenneth) Winship-Peck, daughter Karin McLaughlin, grandchildren Spencer (William Drury), Kellie (Jakob) Valentine, John (Haley) Krim, Jacob Winship, Owen Winship, Brendan Winship and four great-grandchildren, all neighbors in Florida.
There will be a Celebration of Suzanne's Life June 19, at Blue Hill Country Club, Canton, MA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Fund or your favorite charity.
