Steven Alan Emmons' Obituary
Steven Alan Emmons 57 passed away August 2, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was
born February 17,1967 in New Jersey to his biological parents E. Emmons and Dorothy. Steven was adopted and raised by David Mehney and Linda Mehney.
He is survived by his spouse Evelyn Emmons; daughter Madelyn Emmons; Mehney
brothers, sister and two brothers.
Steven is preceded in death by mothers Dorothy Emmons and Linda Mehney & twin sister Susan.
Steven enjoyed spending time with family and friends that are his chosen family. Attending
Stetson University sporting events while watching his daughter Maddie cheer for the
Hatters. Steve was an endless fan of “The BEARS” and a forever New Jersey Devils Hockey
Fan. Steve was a passionate hockey player in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and while at the
University of South Carolina; always a crowd favorite when Steve hit the ice. His ultimate
favorite time on the ice was in Sugar Land, Texas as he spun around the Rink for
Maddie’s 7th birthday party with his arms out holding 8 girls by their arms linked on each side of him.
Steve enjoyed the simpler things in life best, always honest and hardworking. He believed
In doing his own lawn care, and the joy of meeting up with his neighbor on the
weekends. During his hospital stays and cancer treatments, Steve never lost his faith that he would return to his “team” and found comfort in watching Joel Osteen and reading The Bible.
