Rosalind Walker Connelly's Obituary
Rosalind Walker Connelly, 94 Passed away Monday September 21, 2009 in Deland, Florida.
Born April 16, 1915 in Laurel Hill Virginia, Rosalind was the daughter of the late Rev. Alexander Crossfield Walker and Maude Ashley Walker, and the widow of the late Ashton H. Connelly. After graduating from Virginia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, she was the office nurse for the late Dr. Earnest G. Scott in Lynchburg, Va for a number of years and, While living in Coral Gables, FL a staff nurse at the University of Miami Student Health Center.
After moving back t oVirginia in 1982 Mrs. Connelly enjoyed doing volunteer work with the Campbell county Retired Senior Citizens, especially as a member of the Goodtimers Musical Group. She was a member of Kedron Baptist Church in Gladys, VA and Sheridan Hills Baptist Church in Hollywood, Fl, where she served in numerous ministries.
Mrs. Connnely was preceded in death by her sister Gladys hutcherson of Lynchburg, VA and her brother, the Rev. A.C. Walker, Jr of Culpeper, Va.
She is survived by two daughters: Rosemary Howard of Deland, FL and Renee Jaeschke and her husband W. Christian of Bonn, Germany; Five Grandchildren: Lisa Lahiff and her husband Steve of DeLand, Fl. Debbie Gomez and her husband Erick of Orlando, FL, Ken Howard, Jr. of DeLand, FL. Philipp Jaeschke and his wife Hannah of Glasgow. Scotland and Hannah Jaeschke of Bonn, Germany: Four great-grandsons : Timothy Daniel Lahiff, Peter Ashton Lahiff, Rey Reboyras, Erick Gomez, Fr. One great-grandaughter, Jessica Reboyras; one brother-in-law Gray Connelly of Gladys, VA; One sister-in-law Margaret Walker of Culpeper, VA. and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins
Services will be held at Kedron Baptist Church, Gladys, Virginia in early October.
