Robert "Bob" Hewitt's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Hewitt was a special man to his family. He loved them all equally. But we think he might have loved his cats more. They are so lost without him.
Bob worked 2 jobs most of his life. He started out as a City of New York sanitation man, or in other words, a garbage man. He then became a corrections officer for the City of New York. He was extremely proud of this and ended his career as secretary to the warden of the prison system.
Bob had a major heart attack in 1994 and pulled through as the champion he was and had a wonderful life after that. He was kind, generous, funny and very much into politics.
Bob is survived by his wife Doris. His children Robert, Dawn, Daniel and Mark. A son-in-law, Greg and 3 daughter-in-law’s, Diane, Angie and Patti. He had 6 grandchildren, Robert III, Tommy, Dawn, Heather, Trenton and Danyel. Six great-grandchildren, Robby IV, Joey, Matthew, Madeline, Anabell and Autumn.
Bob met Doris in high school and they were married in 1952. They lasted 68 years and loved each other to the end.
God bless you Bob. He has taken you to a better life, but we will see you soon. Love always and forever, Us.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Friday October 9, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church, 1200 Providence Blvd, Deltona, FL, 32725.
