Robert L. Beekman's Obituary
Robert L. Beekman, 74, of DeLand, Florida passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, surrounded by loving care at AdventHealth Fish Memorial Hospital Hospice in Orange City, Florida, following a courageous battle with a long illness.
Born on February 4, 1952, in Westfield, New Jersey, Robert built a life defined by hard work and dedication to those he loved. He served the community through his years with Scotty’s Home Improvement stores and the Volusia County School Board. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose presence brought strength and warmth to his family.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Gale; his son, Eric; his granddaughters, Alexandria and Chelsea; and his sister Diane Smice of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Hope Beekman, and by his son, Matthew.
A Celebration of Life is being planned to honor his memory.
