Rita Jean Elder's Obituary
Rita Jean Charlton Elder 81, of Orange City, Fl. passed away on May 25, 2018. She was born on April 24, 1937 in the Valley heights section of New Kensington, Pa. Rita was prepared to go home to be with Jesus. Rita & Lee, her husband of 62 years, their 3 children Cathy, Mark & Matthew, came to Fl. in 1972, looking for work and a place to live. They found both and stayed in that same house since 1972 to present. Lee found work with the State of Fl. as an Engineer Tech II & Rita as a desk clerk at a local motel for over 20 years. She loved most of all her husband, children Cathy, Mark, Matthew & Rosie, her grandchildren Thomas, James, Jr., Kathleen, Andrew, Theresa, Mary Catherine & Christopher, 7 great-grands. Rita is pre-deceased by her parents, Frank & Mary Charlton; brother, John; Sisters Patty & Liz; grandson Justin Conklin at age 16. She loved most of all her family, the family cats, vacation and trips especially the Alaska Cruise on her & Lee’s 50th Anniversary and shopping at garage sales & thrift shops. “It is so much fun finding a $50.00 blouse for $1.00”. A Memorial Mass will be held 4:00pm, Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, Debary, Fl. 32713. Rita loved flower’s but would like if you would donate to one of her most favorite charities, Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary, P.O Box 220163, Glenwood, Fl 32722, in her memory.
