Richard W. Miller's Obituary
Richard Miller, lovingly adored for his boundless approach to life, raised his sails, caught the wind as he always did and sailed home Friday, April 27, 2012. Richard navigated life with grace, poise and confidence that affected everyone he touched. Most will remember his bright smile, soulful eyes, thunderous laugh, great skill at teaching his grandchildren and great grandchildren funny faces and perfectly symmetrical pancakes. Richard possessed ease and grace that most wish to attain and an open heart full of love, optimism and strength. Everyone he loved knew the depth and strength of his commitment by the warmth and care of his words, the comfort of his embrace and thoughtfulness demonstrated up to his last hours. Richard succeeded at everything he tried due to his persistence, dedication and confidence in his ability. He touched so many lives through his professional life yet his talents were broad and continuing to be discovered every day. Pa, as his grandchildren knew him, taught them the importance of believing in themselves and their potential. God gave him so many gifts which he lovingly refined and selflessly shared. His commitment to his family and friends was powerful, yet tender, enduring and predictable as the tides. Our commitment as his family and friends will be to carry out his legacies of love, compassion, selflessness and joy and to sail through our lives with confidence and understanding with the realization that you can’t fight the wind; you can only learn to embrace it.
Richard is survived by his wife Sarah, two daughters Cathy Levitt and Cindy Annett, two sons-in-law Jimmy Levitt and Jim Annett, four grandchildren, Tim Annett, Dani A. Terranova, Amy Levitt Marx, Mimi Levitt Walantis, four grandchildren-in-law, Janine Annett, Michael Terranova, George Marx and Todd Walantis and six great grandchildren, Jonah Annett, Noah Terranova, Quinn and Teddy Marx, Ashley and Tyler Walantis.
