Richard Allen Glomb,87, died peacefully on January 19, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley V. Glomb (Lake Mary, Florida); his son Timothy Glomb and wife Tifany (Longwood, Florida) ; brother Joseph Glomb (Hoffman Estates, Illinois) and grandchildren Jackson Glomb (Champaign, Illinois) and Whitney Glomb (Manchester, Connecticut).
Additionally, Richard was loved dearly by Shirley's children: Peter Johnson (Dennis, Massachusetts), Stephen Johnson and wife Carmen (Mesa, Arizona) Laura Phipps and husband Stan ( Etowah, NC), James Johnson and wife Susan (Sheboygan, Wisconsin), Mark Johnson and wife Lynne (Howard, Pennsylvania) and grandchildren Justin, Danika, Kerrie, Adam, Ben & Emily. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Stoklosa Glomb, his sister Terry Glomb Glowienke, and his parents. Richard was born to Joseph and Pauline Glomb on February 17, 1936, in Chicago Illinois. A proud Polish American and Catholic -educated, he attended the historic Weber High School. Richard worked for Sunbeam before moving his young family to DeBary, Florida in 1974, and opening Glomb Hardware in the center of town. When he and Virginia decided to close the store, Richard had gained invaluable experience for his career as a Supervisor of Facilities and Maintenance in Seminole County. The Glomb's joined the parish of St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary, where Richard would remain a member for nearly 50 years. Richard began enjoying retirement in 2005, the same year that he and Shirley wed. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Florida Gators. Together they enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends, and their pets.
