Raymond Lester Goodyear Jr.'s Obituary
Raymond L. Goodyear, Jr., 67, of Deltona, FL, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011. He was born on June 27, 1944 in Keene, NH to parents Raymond and Gertrude (Anderson) Goodyear, Sr. Mr. Goodyear honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. Raymond worked for Digital Equipment for 20 years as a Quality Assurance Manager. He moved to the local area in 2003 from Wells Beach, ME, where he started working for Florida Hospital Fish Memorial and DaVita Renal Laboratories as Collection Specialist for the past 4 years. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering with his computer and loved to cook. Mr. Goodyear was a meat and potatoes kind of guy. He loved his Hot Sauce and Mexican food but most of all he loved his “Girls” and his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. Raymond is preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 28 years , Alice M. Goodyear; daughters, Kimberly Goodyear-Shushan, Krista Goodyear and Cheryl Kilmain; brother, Howard Goodyear; grandchildren; Brandy, Tayte, Nadine, Connor, Mathew and Anicque and great grandchildren, Lucas, Carmella and Autumn. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Baldauff Family Funeral Home Small Chapel, 1233 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL, with Reverend Larry Meeks officiating. Military will be rendered at the time of the service. Inurnment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date.
