I only learned about Phil's passing yesterday. I was patiently waiting for his Christmas card and letter. He was one of my professors when I was at university in early 90s. He continued to be a friend and I will sorely miss him.
Phillip was my Lake Theresa, Deltona, lakefront neighbor for 36 years. We worked very hard to keep the lakes clean and lake levels high. We fought many issues with the City of Deltona and Saint Johns River Water Management District to achieve that goal. I will continue to fight as long as I can for his thoughts on the issue and in his memory. I still cannot believe this ends our emails and all his knowledge of nature he is so sorely missed by me and will always remain sweet in my memory.
Phillip is sorely missed. His sudden passing leaves a void. He was always a comfort and kind supporter of others. He lived fully and traveled widely, sharing his view of nature, on Phillipsnaturalworld.com. We met 44 years ago, in Paris, where at a cafe, when at 18 he said, "It's so hard here everyone speaks French." Later, we were flat mates and he spoke French better than foreigner. "En face de la mort, on comprend mieux la vie."

In 1979 and 80 a group of us lived in Paris. It was an enchanting year. Many of us are still friends and treasure those youthful memories. Phillip was the force that kept us all together the last 44 years. In Paris he lived near the Arch de Triumph. Many evenings we would sit under it and wait for the lights to go out on it, The Eiffel Tower and the Place de la Concorde. It was our little thing to end the day. Phillip I can't believe this will be the end of the emails and nature shots. I still feel your energy in the universe.
