Patricia M. Evans' Obituary
Patricia Morley Evans, nee Mullins, 83, of Deland, Florida peacefully passed on August 31, 2025. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 18, 1941 to James and Helen Mullins (Morley) and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pat attended high school at Mount St Joseph Academy and received her Bachelor's in History from Chestnut Hill College. After working for the State of Florida in Tallahassee for many years, she retired to Deland.
Pat was a lover of books, the New York Times crosswords, antiques, travel, and good food. But her greatest love was her family and friends.
Pat, Patsy to some, Tish to others, Mom, Grandma, and Ginka was a woman born with insatiable curiosity. She loved history, puzzles, people, and cooking. She was wicked smart, brave, messy, self deprecating , and hard working. Pat laughed easily, traveled broadly, and read voraciously. She cried over failures and celebrated successes. She mourned untimely deaths and rejoiced over births. She loved and was loved-- it was a life well lived. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jimmy. She is survived by her brother, Christopher and sister Priscilla; daughters Amanda (John) Tyler and Charlotte (Fred) Roberts; grandchildren Avery, Drew, Hayden, Rory, and Morley Tyler and Dallas and Sydney Roberts.
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Pat always had the Irish Blessing hung by her front door for family and friends to read before leaving. We think she would have liked to include it here.
"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand."
