Our heartfelt condolences.
Don, please know that you have our heartfelt condolences. Let us know if there is anything ......
I had the privilege to meet Nancy only once and for a brief moment. And in that moment I knew what a kind person she was. It was early April of this year and my Mom was in West Volusia and she was having quite a time with her room phone. Mom is 85 and suffers with multiple health issues. Don, whom I work with heard me trying to reach Mom and getting nowhere with the staff at the nurses station, he called Nancy who was working the floor at the time and asked her to go in and help Mom. Just like the angel she is Nancy whooshed into Moms room and helped her with the phone. She calmed Mom down and made her feel that at least one person in that place truly cared about her. When I got to the hospital that afternoon I looked Nancy up, she was at the nurses station, now I am a LARGE person and when I asked for Nancy Flatt, this ever so tiny person looked at me with these huge eyes and said "I am Nancy" I introduced myself and she immediately hugged me and made jokes about how her and Mom struggled with that danged phone that day...she didn't hold her hand out for a shake, she hugged a complete stranger, thats my only encounter with Nancy and it is a memory I will carry for quite some time. As I rode down the elevator that night I had the misfortune of riding with 2 people that are employed at West Vol. that didn't know I knew her and they were commenting about Nancy being too nice to people, boy you don't know how much I wanted to say something, but I just figured they are quite ignorant and I pray for them and the people in this world like them. I know Nancy is in heaven, I am sure she had a direct flight. I am just as sure her new job started right away, Don, that slight pressure you feel on your shoulder is not the weight of the world, its Nancy letting you know she is fine and her guardian angel job fits her to a "T".
