With profound sadness and deep love, we gather to celebrate the life and homegoing of Miriam Tollinchi, who peacefully departed this life on June 19, 2026, in Florida, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Known affectionately as “Mimi” by all who knew and loved her, she lived a life centered on faith, family, and compassion. Born on September 18, 1941, in Spanish Harlem, NY, Miriam was one of seven children born to Crispen and Andrea Lebron and was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, beloved sister, aunt, and treasured friend.
In 1957 Mimi met the love of her life, Miguel Arcangel Tollinchi, lovingly known as Ruben. On February 24, 1962, they exchanged vows at Holy Agnes Church on 101st Street and Third Avenue in New York City, beginning a beautiful journey together as husband and wife. Together, they had 2 children, Miguel and Irene. Later welcomed Lizette.
Mimi devoted more than 35 years of her life to educating and inspiring
students in the New York City public school system. As a dedicated teacher, she touched on the lives of countless children through her patience, compassion, and commitment to helping others learn and grow. Outside of the classroom, Mimi found joy in expressing her creativity through art. She loved to draw and spent many hours creating beautiful works that reflected her imagination and love of life.
