Maureen E. Tarrant's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Maureen E. Tarrant (1933 - 2024)
The family of Maureen E. Tarrant announces her passing on December 24, 2024, at the age of 91. Aunt Maureen, as she was always known, is survived by her nieces and nephews, and a countless number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Maureen grew up in Jersey City, NJ, and had a long and successful career as an executive secretary for Chevron Oil Company, first in Manhattan, NY, and later in Houston, TX, where she worked for many years until her retirement. Known and respected by her colleagues, Maureen was admired for her dedication and commitment to her work. She always said what was on her mind, and her sharp intelligence and shrewd nature made her an interesting and unique person in both her personal and professional life.
Aunt Maureen had a deep love for travel and spent many holidays surrounded by her nieces and nephews, who were always generous in including her in their celebrations. After retiring, she followed her siblings to Vero Beach, FL, a beautiful coastal city that they all loved, and later moved to John Knox Village in her final years.
One of the greatest joys of her later years was spending time with her Great-great-nephew, Lucas, especially when he was a baby and toddler.
As the last of her generation in our very large, love-filled family, we feel the profound loss of their presence in our lives.
A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.
