Liberda Segarra Rivera's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Liberda Segarra Rivera who departed this life at the age of 73.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a proud native of the city she loved, with a spirit as vibrant and unforgettable as the place she came from. She was a woman of strong convictions, known for her honesty, her humor, and her deep love for her family.
Liberda leaves behind her three cherished children — Anna M. Rivera, Maribel Rivera, and Leo Albino — who were the light of her life. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A spiritual woman at heart, she found peace in music and comfort in the simple pleasures of life. She adored flowers, was an avid collector of many things, and had a lifelong fondness for Betty Boop memorabilia. Her dog Rocky was a beloved companion, always by her side.
Whether it was shopping with her family, sharing a meal, or simply being in the company of loved ones, she found happiness in the everyday moments. Her honesty, humor, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Liberda lived life on her own terms — bold, blunt, loving, and unforgettable.
“Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”
