DELTONA, FL Lawrence “Larry” Paul Deuerling, 70, passed on to eternal life on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at home.
Larry was born October 12, 1941 in Evanston, IL to William J. and Cele Deuerling. He attended Transfiguration grade school, Wauconda, IL, Notre Dame high school, Niles, IL and the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, IL. He was co-chairman of Night Train at Transfiguration Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, had his own State Farm Insurance agency, a founding member of the paramedic rescue squad and past president of the Chamber of Commerce in Lake Zurich, IL. Larry was also a postal carrier in Barrington, IL for 20+ years before retiring. Florida was Larry’s home for the past eight years where he was very active in his church and community by helping those in need and feeding the homeless through local ministries such as God’s Go-Phor, Acts II, Last Chance Outreach and many others. He was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Christian Community Church and was involved in many activities. Larry was preceded in death by his father, William J. and his mother Cele. He is survived by his son Bill (Ginny), grandsons, Will and Ben, sisters; Barb Dale, Lucille (Otillo) Cantor, Dee Renick, 6 nieces, 6 great nieces, 5 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces and 6 great-great nephews. The Memorial service will be planned in the near future at Larry’s home church Cornerstone Christian Community Church, Deltona, FL (www.welcomehomeccc.org) and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Crystal Lake, IL (www.stpaulsucccl.org).
