Lawrence (Larry) 'Larry' Jay Jennings' Obituary
Lawrence (Larry) Jay Jennings of San Dimas, CA was born in La Mesa, CA. Larry primarly grew up in Goose Creek, SC. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, graduated from Goose Creek High School in 1972 where he was a member of the High School Basketball Team and a Trumpet Player with the Gators Marching Band. He went on to attend the University of South Carolina and was a member of the Fighting Gamecocks Marching Band. While at USC he particiated in the Opening Day Ceremonies of Disney World, Orlando, FL in 1973.
He later relocated back to Southern California where he graduated in 1978 from Pasadena City College with a Degree in Radiologic Technology.
While working at LAC+USC Medical Center, he met and eventually married Gayle Anderson on April 6, 1990 in Lake Tahoe, CA. They settled in San Dimas, CA. During their marriage, he worked at numerous medical clinics and hospitals throughout Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties through registry companies. In 2001, he began employment at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora and continued to work there until his death. Larry searched for many years to find the right place of employment and was very happy working FPH.
In his spare time he liked gardening, working with wood and stone, and especially loved fishing.
At the time of his death, he had driven cross-country with his wife to Florida to visit with his sister Debra and to meet his brother-in-law "Zappa" for the first time. His plans were to continue on to South Carolina and visit with his stepfather Bill Weaver and his wife Carole. Although he did not get to finish his pilgrimage back home, he had a wonderful time reconnecting with his sister.
