Biography
RUMBLEY, KATHERINE (KATHY) ANN HARRIS, DeBary, FL., passed on to her heavenly reward on October 15, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Kathy was born November 12, 1955 in Richlands, Virginia to John and Appolonia Harris. She was a resident of Florida since 1959. She was previously employed as a Development Specialist at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home in Enterprise. She graduated from Winter Park High School (Class of ’73) and Jones Business College (A.S./Magna Cum Laude). She was a Majority Member of Winter Park Chapter #82 Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was past President and Honorary Member of Alpha Omega Sorority, Jones Business College; Past Secretary/Treasurer of the Central Florida Pigeon Fanciers Association and past Secretary of the Central Florida Astronomical Society. She is pre-deceased by her parents, John and Appolonia (Polly) Harris and brother, John Michael Harris. She is survived by her loving, dedicated husband of 35 years, John W. Rumbley Jr.; sister Barbara Reimer (Jerry), Orlando; Mother in law Jackie Rumbley, sister in law Myra Muse (Mike), DeBary; brother in law Howard Rumbley, Deltona; nieces Tiffany Stern (Bob and children), DeBary, Amy Price (James and children), DeLeon Springs and Dayna Rumbley of California, along with numerous friends. Kathy requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach, P.O. Box 141022, Orlando, FL 32814.
