Karen Lynn Cox's Obituary
Karen Lynn Cox, 73, passed away peacefully in her Deltona home on January 8, 2016 surrounded by family and friends.
Karen was born June 21, 1942 in Staten Island New York to Edward (Lars) and Margaret Larsen.
Karen triumphed over a 35 year battle with cancer which is a testament to her faith and love of Jesus Christ. She reflected God’s love in her words and deeds, and was a true inspiration to those around her.
She was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She felt connected to the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and supported their efforts for many years.
Karen was a devoted wife and mother. She focused her energy on family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 49 years James H. Cox.
Karen is survived by her 3 children Robin (Roberta) Apfelbeck, Kim Harrison and Matthew Cox. Four grandchildren Gunner Harrison, Kenton Harrison, Brianna Cox, and Ryan Cox. Son-in-law Tom Harrison. Daughter-in-law Teresa Cox and Fiancée Don Boss. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10 am, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church 1310 Maximillian Street, Deltona. Graveside Service will follow at Deland Memorial Gardens 600 E. Beresford Ave., Deland.
All are invited to an open house that afternoon until 4 pm at 619 Gables Court, Deltona to celebrate Karen’s life and legacy.
