John was an inspiration to everyone that has served, and his dedication to ensure any veteran in his area received the proper final send off will live on in all of us who knew him. The world lost some of its light when John left us but I hope others will take up where John left off. Semper Fi John.
John was a great friend and will be missed. He will always be a member of The US Army Band of New England Herald Trumpets and will play all of us into heaven.
I served with John in the 70s in Japan and remember one year when John & Judy had me over for Christmas when I was so far away from home. I'm sad to hear of his passing & pray the Lord's comfort and blessing on all of his family. I look forward to playing trumpet in Glory one day with John and all the other great trumpeters who have gone on before.

So were you John, so were you.
I am sorry I cannot be with you all tomorrow for the funeral Mass but I share your loss. John was a humble man who always gave of himself to others and his country.
May the Angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs greet you at your arrival and lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem. Amen.
Mrs. Murphy and family, I am so sad to hear of John's passing. He was a wonderful person and I am blessed to have known him. I worked with John for many years organizing the Patriotic Concert at Deltona High School and also for the 911 Taps programs. It was an honor to have known him and my heart hurts today for all of you.. He will be missed by so many. I will always think of him when I hear Taps played. God Bless all of you.
