Jennifer 'Jenni' Paquette Heneghan's Obituary
Jennifer (Jenni) Paquette Heneghan joined the Lord on March 3, 2015 after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in St. Albans, VT on September 26, 1963 to James Paquette and Anne (Wahlen) Criss. The family moved to Middlebury, VT in 1979 where she graduated from Middlebury Union High School. After high school she moved to Florida and attended Stetson University, where she was involved in many student organizations and graduated with her Bachelors in Liberal Arts French and Spanish. She later returned to Stetson to complete her Masters degree in Education. In 1986, she began a 24-year tenure with the Volusia County School system, where in 1993 she received the recognition as Volusia County Teacher of the Year. During her time with Volusia County Schools she held positions at Deltona Junior High as a teacher; Deltona High School as teacher and later athletic director; Heritage Middle School as assistant principal; and Community Learning Center West as principal. In 2010, she accepted the role as principal at All Souls Catholic School in Sanford. Jenni was an active member of the Diocesan Superintendent’s Collaborative Council from August 2011 to present, and a member of the 2015 NCEA Steering Committee for the Orlando Convention in April. She was the Diocesan elementary principal representative to the Catholic Youth Sports organization (formerly known as Catholic Youth League) for many years. She also was working with the Coaches Play like a Champion Day at Bishop Moore High School. Jenni also worked next to her husband every Sunday for 22 years at the family business, 4B’s Restaurant. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert John Heneghan, who proposed to her on the football field at Deltona High School during a homecoming football game halftime show and their son, Colin James. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Anne and Ric Criss; step-mother, Susan Paquette; mother-in-law Barbara Heneghan; siblings Stefanie Paquette Audet, Christopher Paquette and his wife Carri, and Amy Paquette Smith and her husband Dennis and sister-in-law June. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Kirsten, Kelsey, Calli, Ben, Ava, Aubrea, Mason, William Jr., Jeffrey, and Patrick. She is predeceased by her father James Paquette and brother-in-law William. Jenni touched so many lives and had such a positive impact on those around her in her family and in the community. Her smile, great wit and genuine humility will be greatly missed, but the legacy of her ministry will carry on in her spirit. Funeral celebrant will be the Most Reverend Bishop of the Diocese John Noonan, Homilist Father Richard Trout and priests of the diocese as concelebrants. There will be a family and friends visitation at All Souls Catholic Church, 3280 W. 1st St. (SR#46) on Monday, March 9 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 10 at 10:00 am at the church, 3280 W 1st St. (SR#46) with interment immediately following at All Souls Catholic Cemetery located at the corner of 25th Street & Hardy Avenue. Gathering for family and friends will be held after the burial at All Souls Catholic School Social Hall, 810 South Oak Avenue, Sanford, FL.
