James Luther Owens' Obituary
James Luther Owens, 73 of Deltona, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011.
He was born on November 2, 1937 in Blue Hill, Maine to parents Victor and Iola Owens. James moved to Florida from Virginia in 1976. Mr. Owens was a loyal and faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Deltona.
He attended Maine Maritime Academy and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1959. James was an Engineer for the Navy for 27 years and was best remembered by his family as an avid fisherman and also loved hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Ann. James is also survived by his daughter, Joi Bell (Thomas) from Deltona, FL; son, James "Scott" Owens (Tammy) from Kissimmee, FL; and 6 grandchildren, Jordan, Noah, Lucas, Christian, Leah and Rebekah.Also survived by his sister, Margaret "Peggy" Casto. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Victor Owens.
