Harold E Recca's Obituary
Harold E. Recca 86, of Orlando, passed away on January 25, 2024 peacefully in his sleep. He was born in the Bronx, NY to Joseph Recca and Jeanette Recca. Harold was a huge animal lover which guided him in the direction of working in pet stores in his teens, then he went to work at the Coney Island Aquarium. From there he worked at the Bronx Zoo as an animal care taker. He later went on to college to (Study) electrical engineering. He was hired by Telectro, an electronics firm, and worked there about a year. Then he was hired by Loral Electronics firm and worked there until 1977. In 1977, he was hired by Martin Marietta (Lockheed Martin) and moved his family from Brooklyn, NY to Orlando, Florida. He was employed by Martin Marietta up until 1989 and retired due to an unfortunate motorcycle accident. Harold resided at several assisted living facilities over the years. In 2010 he moved to Sumer Haven Assisted Living facility until his passing.
Over the years Harold enjoyed roller skating, going to the beach, fishing/ boating, country western dancing, outing on his motorcycle and spending time with his daughters, friends and family. He continued to have a passion for animals throughout his life and had many pets throughout the years including dogs, cats, birds, fish and turtles. He enjoyed taking his daughters horseback riding and fishing on a regular basis. Harold was a gun enthusiast and taught his daughters gun safety and would take them target shooting.
Harold was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed. May his memory remain eternal.
Harold Recca leaves behind his former wife and friend Arlene Recca, his loving daughters Jeaneen Kembro and AnnMarie Morrissey, son in law David Kembro, 3 grandchildren, Lauren Morrissey, Austin Kembro and Michael Morrissey; step- sister, Judith Marino and family; step-brother, Ronald Gonzalez and family; niece, Betty Jean Mulligan and family; nephew, Kevin Recca and family.
A Visitation will be held 1:00pm-2:00pm with a 2:00pm Funeral Service, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Baldauff Family Funeral home 1233 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Fl 32763.
