Harold Newton Ivester's Obituary
Harold Newton Ivester born in Miami Florida October 23, 1931 went to be with Jesus December 6, 2018. After beginning his telephone career at the age of 19, he decided to further his education at the University of Miami, graduating in 1962. After being promoted to management, he moved to Jacksonville. After moving back and forth between Miami and Jacksonville, he retired in 1991 with 40 years of service with the Bell System then moved to Deltona. He was active in the Telephone Pioneers Community service group, serving as President, a member of the company's Speakers Bureau the Kiwanis and Toastmasters Clubs. As a young boy Harold was an ardent University of Miami fan following the football team when you could get into the game for a dollar,cut out the line-up from the newspaper instead of buying a program, parking the car on a side street for free and walking to the Orange Bowl. He traveled to many out-of-town games including Bowl games and was invited by the team for a game in Japan. Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn, son Wayne Alan of Melbourne. He is predeceased by a son Robert Clayton and a sister Virginia Madson. The state of Florida lost a valued son, then we lost the love of our life. Memorial Service will be held Saturday December 15, 2018 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church 671 North SR 415 Osteen, Florida 32764. " GO CANES"
