Gudlaug Bjarnadottir Bernard's Obituary
Dearest family and friends, it is with great sorrow that I must announce the departing of my mother and wife of Harry E. Bernard (departed in 2006). Gudlaug Bjarnadottir Bernard passed to the realm of the Great Spirit, (the God of gods), on February 1, 2013. She met this challenging time with courage and knowing faith comes from the heart, while maintaining her life philosophy of courtesy, consideration and respect of others - paragraphs could be written of this beautiful/wonderful woman - however each of you has your own story of the influences she had upon your life. She is a beautiful and wonderful woman who will remain in our collective memories for the eternity of our lives. Each of us was blessed to have known her and to experience life with her - she will be greatly missed - By the grace of God, she – is my mother and I am forever grateful, to have received her loving touch, gentle guidance and never wavering confidence in me.
In lieu of flowers or other considerations - may I suggest a random act of kindness - pay the road toll of the car behind - volunteer time with unprivileged - anonymously pay the tab of a family with children at a restaurant – you get to point- you are also welcome to donate in her name to the Hafnarfjordur Fisherman Rescue Fund in Hafnarfjordur, Iceland. In closing I wish to thank each of you for the love, friendship, companionship you have extended to her throughout her 87 years.
May your memories of her be a guiding light and may she be a guardian angel to each of us. Bless/Thank You, Peace and Love Always, her loving son Georg Bjarni and Terry Suzanne, Mataya Joy Conroy, Ryan T. Conroy, Fionn J. Conroy, Tait D. Conroy, Dayoni Autumn Hisel-Bernard, and Chantel Ruth Hisel-Bernard.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 2:00 PM at Baldauff Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1233 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL 32763
