Gladys Byham's Obituary
Gladys V. Byham, age 93, formerly of Deltona, passed away October 18 at Woodland Terrace. Gladys was born February 17, 1916 in Moundsville, West Virginia. The daughter of Ernest and Bertha White. She married Virgil Byham, who preceded her in death in 2000. Gladys came to Florida in 1972 from the Washington, DC area, where she was a registered nurse for over 25 years. She was a member of the DeBary First Baptist Church, former member of Deltona Garden Club Carnation Circle, Deltona Womens Club, Woodland Towers Residential Council and proud member of Woodland Dames Red Hat Society. Gladys is survived by: daughter, Anita Marie Byham, Beltsville, Md.; daughter-in-law, Diane Fitzwater, Crownsville, Md.; grandsons, Richard A. Fitzwater, Walkersville, Md., and Michael W. Fitzwater, Gaithersville, Md. She also leaves dear friends, Joann Black of DeBary and Harold and Juanita Mullins, Orange City, and many others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, son, Edgar Fitzwater, sisters, Patricia Spaar and Mildred M. Fitzwater. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 23 , 2009 at Baldauff Family Funeral Home, 1233 Saxon Blvd., Orange City where friends may call Friday one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be in Deltona Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations in her honor may be made to Hopice of Volusia/Flagler.
