Gertrude M. Karmazin's Obituary
Gertrude Marie (Scheuerman) Schaeffer Karmazin, born on November 16, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ, died on July 24, 2012 at 83 years of age. She was the wife of James E. Schaeffer Sr. for 38 years and was remarried to Henry H. Karmazin for 16 years. Trudy lived in Avenel, NJ for most of her life and was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Avenel. She was a Cub Scout leader for 10 years, employed by Safeway Stores for 17 years as well as West Point Pepperell for 18 years. She then retired in 1985 to Hague, NY. In Hague she was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and former President of the Mottican Home Bureau. Henry and Trudy spent their winters in St. Petersburg until his death. She moved to DeBary, FL in 2004. Trudy loved camping, crafts, reading, traveling, cooking, and being with her friends and family.
Preceded in death by her first husband James E. Schaeffer Sr.; second husband Henry H. Karmazin; parents, William H. Scheuerman and Alice (Menig) Scheuerman of Avenel, NJ. She is survived by sons, James E. Schaeffer Jr.(Trudy), Jeff S. Schaeffer(Allison), Keith W. Schaeffer(Jackie); stepson, Paul Karmazin(Judy), Kenneth Karmazin(Kathy); grandchildren, Sierra and James III; brothers, Richard Scheuerman, William Scheuerman and their families. A memorial service will be held at Kings Lake Clubhouse in DeBary, FL on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mark Siers officiating.
