Gerard Joseph Connor's Obituary
Gerard Joseph Connor, Jr., 83, of South Daytona, FL, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011. He was born on June 27, 1928 in Winthrop, MA to parents Gerard and Emily Pearl Connor, Sr. Mr. Connor honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster Third Class. During his service he received World War Two Victory Medal, American Theatre Campaign Medal, Navy Occupation Ribbon-Europe and a Good Conduct Medal. Gerard worked as a Comptroller for Lapp Industries and retired after 20 years of service. In his spare time Gerard loved to golf and take long walks. He was a loyal member of the Pelican Bay Golf and Country Club for 20 plus years. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Madeline Sandrock Connor and is survived by his second wife of 24 years, Alice Farrand Connor; daughter, Eileen Connor Zielinski (Thomas); son, Paul G. Connor (Julia); step-daughter, Barbara Uhly; step-son, David Uhly; brother, Warren Connor (Suzanne); grandchildren, Martin Johnson (Lynda), Brian Connor, Katelyn Connor and Margaret Connor and great grandson, Martin. Inurnment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum in Erie, PA at a later date.
