In loving memory of Ernest “Ernie” Clyde Grunewald
Ernest Clyde Grunewald born, on March 28, 1939, in Windom, MN, passed away on May 20, 2024, at his home in Deltona, FL, at the age of 85. His parents Ernest and Ethel Grunewald raised their children in Windom, MN, Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and 21 siblings his son Charles Grunewald, and his daughter Janice Lee Fields. Ernie is survived by LaRae Grunewald, Jean Grunewald four step-children, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and also great-greatgrandchildren.
Ernie’s career was with GM as a construction worker and a farmer. He was a hardworking man,
with extraordinary strength. His work ethic was exquisite and admirable. He was wise beyond his years. Ernie is known for his gardening, jokes, smart remarks, and his joyful singing. He was humorous to be around.
In his free time, Ernie enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and
drinking beer. Ernie was very competitive, and he hated to lose at anything. He was a teacher at
heart, always willing to relay his knowledge to others around him. Ernie’s love for children was evident to all who knew him.
Pallbearers: Emil Renczykowski, Estrada Edge, Leonard Sidle, George Rosa and Dave Queen.
A Visitation will be held 11:00-12:00pm with a 12:00pm Funeral Service, Friday, May 31, 2024 at Baldauff Family Funeral Home, 1233 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Fl 32763. Interment to follow at Hollywood Cemetery.
Ernie will truly be missed by his family and friends.
