Embley Drake Emmons II (Jay), 75, of Deltona, Florida, Passed away at his home on Thursday, November 5 after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was born to Embley and Marian (Woodruff) Emmons in Binghamton, NY. He married the love of his life, Nelda Emmons, in Binghamton, NY on August 19, 1972. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and silly jokes. He always wanted to make people laugh.
Survivors include his wife Nelda; his two sons Charles Wesser and his wife Renae of Newberry, SC, Embley (Drake) Emmons III of Deltona; his daughter Nikki Emmons and life partner Nathan Van Prooyen of Debary, Fl; his brother Gerald Emmons of Windsor, NY; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Embley Sr. and Marian; brothers Edward, Lawrence (Butch) and Ronald (Woodruff); his sister Beverly (Baxter).
He managed his illness with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. In his final days, he was surrounded by his children and wife, who he adored more than anything else in this world.
