Dorothea M. Stavros, 97 of Debary, Fl passed away on October 24, 2018. She was born on September 17, 1921 in Jackson, Minnesota to parents John and Emma Bieber. Dorothea is survived by her children, Anthony (Linda) Stavros of Carmel, IN, Helen (the late Richard) Hemmer of Wheeling, IL, Daniel (Debbie, “DJ”) Stavros of DeBary, Fl and Greg Townsend (son-in-law) of Barrington, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Stavros of Middletown, NJ, Jennifer (Lyle) Stavros Turner of Silver Springs, MD, Ernest (Jessica) Stavros of Deltona, FL, Casandra Stavros of Herndon, VA, Matthew (Lauren) Townsend of Bend , OR and Brian Townsend of San Francisco, CA; great-grandchildren, Sierra Pulver of Valrico, Fl, Ashton and Spencer Stavros of Deltona, Fl, Niall and Caitlin Stavros of Middletown, NJ, Payton and Blakely Townsend of Bend, OR, Ryden and Zachary Stavros Turner of Silver Springs, MD; many Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Stavros; daughter, Joanne Townsend; sister, Lillian (William) Mykytiuk. Dorothea was an active member of the River City Presbyterian Church in Debary and Volunteer at the Halifax Health Hospice Resale Shop in Orange City, Fl. She loved golfing, quilting, cross stitching, crocheting and supported The Duval Home with her homemade items.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm on Friday, November 9, 2018 at River City Presbyterian Church, 267 E. Highbanks Road DeBary, Fl 32713. A Memorial Service will also be held in Arlington Hts. IL in early December (date to be announced).
