Doris Ernestine McCarty's Obituary
Doris E. McCarty, 94, of Orange City, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2011. She was born on March 12, 1917, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to parents Edwin and Ellen Larson. Mrs. McCarty was a loyal and faithful member of Maranatha Fellowship Church in Orlando, FL for the last 20 years, where she volunteered much of her time. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, taking long walks and entertaining church missionaries at her home with her husband. Doris was a homemaker and made her family her first priority. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and loving husband of 64 years, Ralph P. McCarty, in 2003. She is survived by her son, Ed McCarty (Jane) of Orlando, FL; daughter, Nancy Hess of Orange City, FL; grandsons, John Hess, Jr. (Sarah) of Washington, DC and David McCarty of Orlando, FL; granddaughters, Tammy Gibson (Dave) of Montverde, FL and Julie Hoare (Trent) of Tampa, FL; great- grandchildren, Wheeler, Samantha, Nathaniel, Cooper, Teddy and one on-the- way, as well as many special nieces and nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 1, 2011, in the Baldauff Funeral Home Large Chapel with Reverend Chaplain Fernando Morales officiating. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Vitas Hospice, 2381 Mason Ave., Suite 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
