Dolores Arlene Briggs' Obituary
Dolores “Laurie” A. Briggs, 78, of Deltona, FL passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011. She was born on December 3, 1932 in Walden, NY to Jennie Truglio. Laurie moved to the local area in 1987 form Piscataway, NJ. She was a member and volunteered much of her time to the Order of the Sons of Italy, Mike Arcardi, Lodge #2441. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting beautiful afghans, going to the casino and volunteering for the Junior Bowling League. She is preceded in death by her mother and is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Douglas W. Briggs; son, Thomas J. Briggs of Easton, PA; daughters, Carrie Ann Briggs of Franklin Park, NJ and Jennifer Walters of Katy, TX; half-sisters; Angela Merwin of Manchester, VT and Mary Ann Truglio of Olympia, WA; half-brother; Michael Truglio of Lacy, WA and many nieces and nephews. She will be always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Order of the Sons of Italy (American Cancer Society), 1270 Doyle Rd., Deltona, FL 32725. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11:30, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Baldauff Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Everett Felix Lowe officating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL Cremation arrangements are under the care of Baldauff Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1233 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL (386) 775-5190.
