Not a perfect man--but perfect to me and in God's eyes. Always did the best he knew how. Hardworking, smart, and kind.
ODE TO MY DAD:
Its going to be 10 years... my father, Mr. Clifford Orville Smith. A rare man who made me the woman I am. He hugged, he cared deeply, worked hard, provided, nurtured, nourished, taught me life lessons, gave me strength, cheered me on, guided me (or at least tried to 🙂).
He loved, he listened, he advised, and he was not ashamed to cry and show his deepest emotions --including a real Jamaican bad temper.... Attributes of a "real and rare man;" even though not perfect; was a perfect father to me.
RIP in eternal peace Daddy.
Your First Born Child.
Dr. Charmaine J. Smith PhD.
I am his eldest daughter. I think of him everyday. He was a giver, in a world mostly made up of selfish takers. He was a provider and father to all, even those who were not his children. I love him and I pray he rest in eternal peace.
