Carrie Lynn Fong's Obituary
Fong, Carrie Lynn: age 43, passed away, December 6th, 2017. She was born on February 15th, 1974 in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Carrie was the beloved daughter of Richard and Terri (Bertrand) Fong. She survived by her sister, Lori Ann Fong; her nieces, Ashlyn Rose Fong, Abigail Grace Folden, and Ava Fong; her nephew Shane Robert Folden; her maternal aunt, Sherie Haunzwickl and her husband Wolf Haunzwickl; her paternal aunt, Rose (Fong) Reagan and her husband Lynn Reagan; her paternal uncle, William Fong; her cousin, Tabitha Bruinsma. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Frank and Ying Yee Fong; her maternal grandparents, Robert Bertrand, Helen Fox and her husband John Fox. Carrie was a long time resident of Central Florida. She graduated Lake Brantley High School in 1992. She obtained two bachelors degrees at UCF in nursing and legal studies. She worked at Florida Hospital's bone marrow transplant unit. Carrie loved working as a nurse and caring for other people. Despite her own health conditions, she fought hard to make sure everyone around her was taken care of. Carrie was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension at the age of 20. At that time she was given months to live. Thanks to an experimental medication and her strong will, she pulled through to live another blessed 23 years. Carrie is also a 5 year pancreatic cancer survivor. She succeeded when all odds were against her.Carrie was known for her passion for life, her genuine kindness, her selflessness, and her love and loyalty to family and friends.
