Carol June Tavani's Obituary
Carol June Tavani, 83, of Deltona, FL passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011. She was born on June 4, 1928 in Cleveland, OH to parents Edward and Helen (Guilfoyle) Melcher. Mrs. Tavani was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #91, for the past 35 years. She also volunteered her time for various organizations such as March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, numerous hospitals and schools in Ohio. Carol moved to the local area in 1988 from Berea, OH. Mrs. Tavani was a member of the Graces Group for the United Methodist Church of Deltona, FL. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making candy and jewelry. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her loving husband, George Victor Tavani in 2003; sisters-in-law, Ann Pilisko, Gevieve Tavani and Grace Hritzak. Carol is survived by her daughter, Joy Therese Tavani; brothers-in-law, Philip (Doris) Tavani, Joe Pilisko and Steve Hritzak; sister-in-law, Laura Ciavarelli and many nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother. A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date. Inurnment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
