Dear Bill,

I read of the passing of your mother and wanted to send my condolences. I remember our first grade together, and you were usually my hand-holding partner in our walks with Miss Sprague. I think we shared most classes and with our L last names nearly every homeroom and many bus trips. I remember you fondly and was sorry about your loss. My mom is living near me in Columbus and just got out of the hospital. We talk fondly of her years in Howland.
