Arthur Charles Broska's Obituary
Arthur Broska, Jr., 81, of Orange City, FL passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011. He was born on October 22, 1929 in Chicago, IL to parents Arthur and Margaret Broska, Sr. Mr. Broska honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and Vietnam War and retired after 20 years of service as a Motor Transport Officer. During his service he received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Stars, Presidential Unit Citation with 1 Star, Good Conduct Medal and a United Nations Service Medal. Arthur moved to Orange City, FL in 1995 from Mantua, OH. Mr. Broska was an active and loyal member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in DeBary, FL for the last 16 years. He was the Financial Secretary of the Knights of Columbus, the past Grand Knight of Debary, Council #13571 Bishop Fulton Sheen and past Grand Knight of Mantua, Council #3766. Arthur was also the District Deputy of Northeastern Ohio as well as a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time he loved to golf and was known to have a “Green Thumb”. Arthur is preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his loving wife, of 57 years, Rose Broska; sons, Arthur C. Broska III (Annette), Samuel J. Broska, Glenn M. Broska, John D. Broska (Anisa); 11 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary, FL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Interment will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in his honor to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd. Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
