Amelia Gil de Rubio's Obituary
Amelia Gil de Rubio, 92, of Deltona, died November 29, 2015. Amelia (Rey) Gil de Rubio was born in Puerto Rico. She moved to New York in 1949 where she met and married Benigno Vazquez. Together, they raised their 3 children, Ben, Chickie and Josie. After Benigno's death in 1972, Amelia continued her work as a seamstress in New York. In 1978, she married Manuel Gil de Rubio. Amelia and Manny moved to Volusia County 28 years ago. Amelia is survived by her three children, five step-children, 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Baldauff Funeral Home, 1233 Saxon Blvd. in Orange City. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 1310 Maximillian St., Deltona at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 3. A committal service will be held at Deltona Memorial Gardens following Mass.
