Alanna Mari Pinkham's Obituary
GOD SAW
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you
and whispered, "come to me"
With tearful eyes, we watched you,
and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly
we could not make you stay
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove
to us he only takes the best.

First meeting: Babygirl Alanna was brought into the room in a wheeled incubator. She was showing off her fighting spirit as she waved her hands and feet in the air.
Mommy reached into the incubator and touched Alanna's left hand while a nurse reached in to move Alanna's right hand away from one of the tubes she was tugging at. Alanna wanted things her way.
When Daddy took his turn, Alanna immediately proved she was a Daddy's girl when her tiny right hand grasped the tip of Daddy's left index finger. Daddy's heart melted in his chest, she already had him wrapped around her little finger.
The few family members and friends who were able to witness this first meeting and see baby Alanna alive were Grandma Damaris, Titi Joanna, Uncle Tim, and Grandma Damaris's close friend Selly and her children.
Everyone agreed she was very beautiful and had a very strong heart or what Daddy calls a golden heart.
To our Babygirl Alanna,
From day one Mommy and Daddy loved you with all our hearts. We were so excited when we found out we were having you. So excited that the nine months we would have had to wait felt like an eternity.
When you were in Mommy's belly, you showed us how stubborn and strong you were whenever you would kick at Daddy for trying to find your heartbeat. It was like you were saying I'm here, you don't have to worry. You were so active once you started moving in there. It always made Mommy happy to feel you moving.
Early on Mommy and Daddy would joke that you would be born asking for an eggroll, since you wanted chinese food almost everyday for several months. Hong Kong Buffet and China Star took our business happily. We're sure they recognized us for coming in so often.
Your next favorite thing was Pepsi and orange juice. Unfortunately Daddy knew too much Pepsi was bad so Mommy only got to drink it on "special occasions." Still, we got to drink alot of orange juice.
At night, your Daddy would try his hardest to hear your heartbeat through Mommy's tummy. He would press his ear to Mommy's belly but all he would hear was you moving around.
We couldn't wait for next year when we knew we would see you. We wanted to be able to hold you and see you so bad that it hurt.
We know now that you must've wanted to see us just as badly. We wish that a little more time had passed before you came out to see us, but we know that God has His plans for us and that He must've wanted us to meet earlier then expected.
We're glad that we were given those few precious moments with you, and we know how much you must've fought to be able to see us before He had to take you away. Those moments mean the world to us.
Although we prayed for you to make it through, we're happy knowing that you are at peace. That He did not let you suffer long through the pain you must've been feeling. Daddy's very proud of your strength and heart. You had such a strong heart.
No one, NO ONE, will ever take your place in our hearts. You will always be our Baby Girl. Our first little angel. We promise to give you brothers and sisters to look after. Because you will always be their big sister. We promise to tell them how tough you are, and they will always know that you are watching over them.
We love you Alanna, with all our hearts. And we will pray to God for you every night. To protect you and keep you safe for us until we can see you again.
Love always, Mommy and Daddy.
