Adelaide Iva Daly's Obituary
Adelaide Iva Daly, age 95, of John Knox Village in Orange City, passed away on Thursday August 15,2024
at John Knox’s Majestic Oaks. She was born in Herkimer, New York on June 18th, 1929 to Hugh and
Louella Millar.
Adelaide attended Rochester Nursing College where she obtained her Registered Nursing Degree.
Married her High School sweetheart Ted Daly on August 25th, 1951 at the Dutch Reform Church in
Mohawk, New York and moved to the Detroit Michigan area in support of Ted’s career. She was always
involved with the church choir and Farmington Michigan’s Barbershop Chapter, usually as an alto and
loved challenging herself with new endeavors. She was a woman of many talents: Registered Nurse,
Singer, Entertainer, Stock Broker, Relator, Flower Arranger, Flower Arrangement judge and Home
Designer to name a few. However, what she did best was develop, nurture, support and love her
family and friends.
Adelaide and Ted’s top priority were always their family. Preferring to spend their spare time at their
summer lake home with the family or later in life make sure they spent the holidays with the family.
She is survived by her brother Arnold Millar, sons Jeff (wife Jan) and Scott (wife Linda); daughter Lisa
(husband Frealin Craft); niece Cheryl Neff; nephew Brian Millar, granddaughters Lauren (husband
Leonard), Kelsey, Krysta (husband Scott), and Amanda (husband Matt); grandson Cameron and four
great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Ted, her father and mother Hugh and Louella
Millar and her sister-in-law Mary Ann Millar
